Weinzierlberg
The Krems vineyard Weinzierlberg was first mentioned "1160" as a vineyard of the winegrowers (the winegrowers' village "Weinzierl"). Today, the vineyard is located in the middle of the city of Krems, above the Weinzierl district, and is divided into two parts: the upper and the lower Weinzierlberg. This south-facing site is dominated by loess soils over primary rock, which is composed of Gföhler gneiss and amphibolite, and is under the strong influence of the Pannonian climate, as this vineyard is a very heat-storing site.
