The vineyards are all favoured by a cooler microclimate, as they are located in Egelsee, the Riede Holzgasse and the Riede Kerschbaum in Krems. In the Riede Satzn in Egelsee, crystalline granulite weathered soil is shallowly overlaid by sandy elements. The Holzgasse & Kerschbau site is located below the Krems plateau which stretches between Gneixendorf and Senftenberg. In the Kerschbaum and Holzgasse vineyards, not only Grüner Veltliner but also our Zweigelt grows on the sandy-loamy soil. The good nutrient availability and water storage capacity of the soil gives it an elegant fruit and a charming character.
